To mark Batman’s 75th Anniversary, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. have revealed their brand new Batman Logo, along with plans for a year-long celebration, and I cannot wait. SO MUCH EXCITEMENT RIGHT NOW!! There is even going to be a Batman Day, so mark Wednesday 23rd July in your diary because I will disown you all if you’re not wearing a Dark Knight costume to celebrate. I think I’m going to have to book the day off work and throw a little Batman party, that and get my ass down to the comic book store to claim a free special edition comic!
That’s not all though; there’s going to be a Cape/Cowl/Create art exhibition at San Diego Comic Con featuring costume designs by 20 of the world’s best contemporary artists, and there’ll be two brand new animated Batman short movies released. We’ll also finally be able to watch the new Television series, Gotham, and production is going to start on Zack Snyder’s Batman/Superman movie, so expect lots of pictures and posters.
For comic fans, DC are going to be releasing some new Batman titles, such as Batman Eternal, as well as commemorative issues, and loads of variant issues. There’ll even be a special edition of Detective Comics #27 released to commemorate Batman’s very first appearance. If you’re a toy collector, then expect lots of limited-release products. And if you love t-shirts, then no doubt you’ll be in luck too.
This is the perfect time to be a Batman fan. It’s not every day you get to help something celebrate a milestone like this, so take full advantage of it. I expect there’ll be much more Batman news in the coming months, but in the meantime – HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BATMAN!!
