Comics Unmasked


Between 2nd May and 19th August, the British Library is going to be holding the UKs biggest ever exhibition of mainstream and underground comics. With iconic work from the likes of Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, and Posy Simmonds, the exhibition will trace British comics through the ages; all the way back to the 19th century illustrated reports on Jack the ripper. To learn more about the exhibition, check out their website which will be updated with more information as the exhibition goes on.

Some of the worlds most famous comic authors and illustrators will also be holding conferences in halls of the British Library;

2nd May: Bryan Talbot and Mary Talbot – Dotter of her Fathers eyes
16th May: Neil Gaiman – Sandman
16th June: Warren Ellis and Grant Morrison – X-Men and other Marvel titles
27th June: Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin – Tank Girl
3rd July: Melinda Gebbie – Lost Girls
4th July: Alejandro Jodorowsky – The Incal, Technopriests, and Metabarons
7th July: Dave Gibbons, Frazer Irving and Pat Mills – 2000AD
18th July: Posy Simmonds – Tamara Drewe
15th August: Bryan Lee O’Malley – Scott Pilgrim and Seconds
