A Library made of books ..literally

Well, technically it is the library’s car park, but this is still the most awesome building I’ve ever seen, even if it’s sole use is to house vehicles. This structure, known as the community bookshelf, belongs to the Kansas City Public Library. It stands at around 25 feet tall, and is completely covered with the spines of 22 different books. The titles on display range from Lord of the Rings, to Charlotte’s Webb. Each book was decided on by the Kansas City Public Library Board of Trustees, after residents of Kansas put forward their favourite pieces if literature.

Here is a list of the books on display:

100 Years of Solitude
A Tale of Two Cities
Black Elk Speaks
Charlotte’s Web
Children’s Stories
Fahrenheit 451
Invisible Man
Journals of the Expedition
Kansas City Stories
Lord of the Rings
O Pioneers!
Romeo and Juliet
Silent Spring
Tao Te Ching
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
The Collected Poems of Langston Hughes
The Republic
Their Eyes Were Watching God
To Kill a Mockingbird
Undaunted Courage
