– The new Harry Potter spinoff movie; Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, officially has a release date – 18th November 2016. The film will be based on JK Rowling’s companion book of the same name, and is going to be made into a trilogy. It will be set way before the birth of Harry, in the 1920’s, and will be based around the wizard Newt Scamander.

– Star Trek 3 has a new director, Roberto Orci. With Star Wars Episode VII in production, JJ Abrams – the director of the first two Star Trek (rebooted) movies, has had his hands full and had to step down from directing the third ST movie. Orci, who is co-writing the Star Trek script, has taken on the role instead.

– Microsoft announced the next video game in their Halo franchise will be called Halo 5: Guardians. It will be available for Xbox One and is expected to be released in autumn 2015.

– Fox’s Animated cartoon series; Bob’s Burgers, is going to be turned into a comic by Dynamite Entertainment. It will be created by the animators and writers of the shows, and is expected to hit shelves in August later this year.

– Namor the sub-mariner could be the next superhero to get his own feature film. Universal announced an Untitled 2016 Marvel project, ‘which will not be a sequel or a remake’, and Namor is the logical choice, being their sole remaining licensed Marvel superhero.

– The 200+ episodes of Sailor Moon are going to become available to stream on Hulu, or watch on Blu Ray. This follows the announcement of a complete remake of the animated anime series.
