Daredevil lost its director, Drew Goddard, earlier in the week, but it’s not all bad news for the television series – they’ve found a replacement in Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer, Steven S. DeKnight, and have finally found their lead actor. Matt Murdock, aka. Daredevil, will be played by British actor Charlie Cox, the star of 2007 movie Stardust.
Daredevil is going to be the first of four related television series produced by Netflix, based on different superheroes from the Marvel Universe. The other heroes include Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones, characters that will ultimately make up a team called the Defenders. The show will have 13 episodes and is expected to start production in the summer, becoming available for binge watching on Netflix later next year.
