Dungeons and Dragons Movie Announced

The world’s most popular role playing game is getting its own feature film! Warner Bro’s and Hasbro are partnering up to bring us Dungeons and Dragons the movie. They are currently looking for someone to direct the film, but Roy Lee is attached to produce, alongside Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis from Hasbro, and Courtney Solomon and Allan Zeman from Sweetpea Entertainment. You can read more about this in the press release.

David Lesle Johnson, screenwriter of The Walking Dead and Wrath of the Titans, has already written a script for the project, but the movies synopsis is being kept under wraps for now. All we know so far is that it will be set in the Forgotten Realms, which is where most of the D&D novels are based. There are hundreds of stories and popular characters from this area, so the team have a lot to work with.

What do you think about this news? Will a movie ruin the magic for fans of the RPG? Or does this open a door full of opportunities?

You can find a copy of the D&D wallpaper I used for this post here.
