Jurassic Park Moped

IMG_1326.JPG

I’m not sure I’d ever want to own a moped – I associate them with the word annoying, though maybe that’s just me getting old. However, if I were to buy one during my imminent midlife crisis, I would want a little dinosaur fleeing machine like this one.

Jarrod Lofy, a Computer Science student from Hawaii, has created the Jurassic Park Ruckus. The moped is based on the designs used for the Jeeps from the Jurassic Park movie, and I can’t help but think that if Jeff Goldblum had this little run around when fleeing the hungry dino’s, he’d have had a little more luck in the film.

Dredd Miniseries in the works

The Dredd franchise has always been a popular one. In fact, the Judge Dredd strip is 2000ADs longest running comic. There have been games and board games, novels and movies. The most recent of which, starring Karl Urban, was met with divided opinions. The film has since developed a massive cult following who have been […]

Hobbit Character Posters

IMG_1233.JPG

In all honesty, I’d almost completely forgotten about the upcoming Hobbit movie. The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies is set for a December 2014 release, which is actually pretty soon, but I haven’t heard anything about the movie at all over the past few months.

I guess Warner Brothers have decided to re-peak our interest, because they’ve just released the first three, of what I can imagine to be many, character posters – these particular ones depicting Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, and Gladriel.

The next poster to be released will either be Legolas or Thranduil – it appears that the Hobbit twitter page is having a little competition. If you want a say about which character should be next, tweet them, with the obligatory twitter hashtag and you may be in luck!

Guardians of the Galaxy Steelbook

IMG_1200-0.JPG

Guardians of the Galaxy was a knockout at the cinema, so I won’t be surprised if it’s DVD and Blu Ray sales are off the roof too. Marvel seem to be preparing already, and have all sorts of goodies lined up – my favourite!? A limited edition Steel Book version of their Blu Ray, modelled to look like Star Lords Walkman.

Announced via their Twitter account earlier this month, the Blu Ray will be available on 24th November in the UK, and 9th December in the US.

Deadpool Movie

IMG_1157.JPG

I know, I know; I haven’t written a post in ages – I’ve been busy alright, doing that self-discovery stuff. But well, if any news was going to get me back on the blog posting, it was going to be this.. DEADPOOL MOVIE IS GO!! Yes, Deadpool is FINALLY getting his own movie. Do you remember the leaked footage from Comic con, about a potential Deadppol movie? Well, looks like it was more accurate than we though, because Marvel announced that the Merc with the Mouth will have his own flick by 2016.

Not much is currently known about the upcoming movie, except for the fact that Twentieth Century Fox are attached to the film, along with director Tim Miller. It will also be live action – The test footage was produced in CG, but the real deal will be, well.. real. Ryan Reynolds has expressed interest in reprising the role of Deadpool, whether he gets the part or not is still questionable. Expect the film to hit cinema screens on 12th February, 2016.

Frozen Fever

IMG_1124.JPG

Frozen is insanely popular with children and adults alike, and having made around 1.3 billion dollars at box office, it’s officially the biggest animated movie of all time. Personally, I don’t see the big deal.. But I’ve got some news you Frozen fans out there will love – Frozen is getting a sequel.

Ok, so it’s not a full length sequel, it’s more of a one off ‘short’. How short it will actually be, I don’t know, but according to Variety, the miniature movie will be called Frozen Fever, and will be about Anna’s birthday. ‘Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk’. Olaf will also make an appearance.

There are currently no details on when the short will be released, but Spring 2015 is being thrown around. It’s also unclear as to how everyone will be able to watch Frozen Fever. The short will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and a brand new, original song will be created so you can all finally stop singing ‘Let it go’.

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost – Unite!

IMG_0971.JPG

It sounds like these guys are going to be spending some more quality time together pretty soon. Simon Pegg announced that the two of them will be reprising their Shaun of the Dead roles for an episode of Phineas and Ferb – you know, that awesome cartoon series with the cute detective platypus, Perry. He announced via twitter that characters Shaun and Ed will be appearing in a Halloween special of the animated series, so expect to see cartoon versions of Frost and Pegg in October.

IMG_0972.JPG

This will not be their only reconciliation. Pegg also confirmed that they are in the process of making a new movie with fellow Cornetto Trilogy writer, Edgar Wright, stating ‘We made three films in 10 years and hopefully in the next decade we’ll make another three’. Does this mean there’ll be another Cornetto Trilogy? Mmm…. The Magnum Trilogy. I freaking love these guys, Spaced is one of my favourite ever TV series, so this is the best news I’ve heard all day. It’s also made me crave ice cream – damn you Simon Pegg.

Wish List (25.07.14)

These are a few of the awesome products I intend on getting this week, either because I need them, or I am just insanely desperate for them – because they’re AWESOME. I guess you could say it’s more of a shopping list I suppose, and because they are items I will definitely be purchasing, they’re all relatively inexpensive.

Here’s my wish list for this week:

5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

20140725-224725-82045030.jpg
I’ve read all seven Harry Potter book’s over and over, but somehow I’ve never actually gotten round to reading any of the other ‘side story’ books created by JK Rowling. Since finding out that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be turned into a movie, I decided it was about time I read it before seeing it on the screen. There’s a copy on Play.com for only £3.75 – I have to get it.

4. Paint Brushes

20140725-224758-82078852.jpg
Not my usual geeky product, I know, but I need some new paint brushes for a genuinely nerdy reason – Warhammer. My housemates are obsessed, and I seem to have been persuaded to give it a go, so now that I have my set of High Elves, I need to start painting, and decent brushes seem like a good place to start. Not wanting to spend too much, I found a set of 10 Royal & Langnickel Taklon Brushes on Amazon. They’ve been reduced down to £4.53, but they seem like a reparable brand. A good place to start I think.

3. Pokemon Card Tin

20140725-224828-82108513.jpg
My boyfriend and I have just started re-collecting Pokemon Cards –Nostalgia overload! We’ve made it our mission to buy a couple of booster packs every time we see them, but my addiction needs something bigger, especially seen as we’re racing to see who can find the most shiny cards. I found these Limited Edition Collectors Tins in Argos for £12.99, and the best thing is you’re guaranteed a shiny EX card. Plus, I’ve got a £10 voucher to use up..

2. Rubiks Cube

20140725-224906-82146400.jpg
I picked up a Rubiks cube for the first time the other day, and it only took me 4 hours or so to solve – I’m not certain that’s massively impressive, but I’m incredibly proud of myself either way. I think I have some sort of Rubiks bug now however, because all I want to do is have another go and beat my time. The only problem is, I don’t actually own one, BUT Amazon has them on sale for £6.49 – Add to Basket.

1. Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers Plugs

20140725-224936-82176868.jpg
Plugs are quite hard to come by down the high-street; I’ve only ever really been able to order them online. Still, I seem to wear the same boring black earrings every day – my collection is quite sparse. I figure it’s about time I bought myself some plugs that are a bit more out there, and what better design than one that will show off how much I adore Scott Pilgrim. These particular ones are $17.95 from Plain Jane Plugs. Both are Stainless steel, so they’ll last a long time, and they just look amazing.
