New Jurassic World Poster | Life Finds a Way

There’s exactly one year to go until we get to watch the Jurassic World sequel in cinema’s, and thanks to a poster that appeared online yesterday, we now know what it will be called – Fallen Kingdom.

There is currently no news on what the movie will actually be about, and since they haven’t wrapped up filming yet, we can’t expect a trailer for a good few months, but Jeff Goldblum is back as Dr Ian Malcolm, after skipping the past two Jurassic park films, and this poster is making sure everyone knows about it by featuring his most iconic quote “Life finds a way” – except they missed out the ‘uh’, but I will forgive that for now.

10 Things We Learnt From the Game of Thrones Trailer

HBO have premiered a new trailer for season 7 of Game of Thrones, following the stills they released last week, and it shows us so much more about what to expect from the upcoming series that it’s hard not to get insanely excited – as if we weren’t already excited enough. Here are 10 things I learnt from the trailer, which you can watch below.

Bran and Meera finally make it to the wall

Right at the beginning of the trailer we get a glimpse of a gate in the wall at Castle Black opening, and who is on the other side? – Bran Stark and Meera Reed. Hopefully this is the start of the Stark siblings reuniting. Three down, one to go.

Daenerys claims Dragonstone

It was inevitable that Daenerys was going to make Dragonstone her new home at some point – it was the original home of House Targaryen after all. Now we know for a fact that she lands on its shores and enters its castle, ripping down Stannis Baratheon’s banners to make room for her own.

Grey Worm finds a secret entrance

The unsullied play a prominent role in this trailer, especially Grey Worm, who at one point can be seen in a boat searching for what looks like a secret entrance. Later we see a shot of unsullied letting more unsullied into some sort of castle – could this be Casterly Rock or Highgarden? Both are rumoured to appear in season 7.

Bran has a connection to the Night King

As Bran flies over an army of white walkers in raven form, its leader seems to sense the bird, stopping Bran’s connection. This suggests that the two have some sort of cerebral connection. Rumours have been going around that Bran IS the Night King, though I think we’ll have to see about that one..

Brienne makes it to Winterfell

After Brienne and Pod left the Black Fish, failing to recruit his army, it was obvious that they would head back up noth – seen as Brienne is hell bent on protecting Sansa. By the looks of it, they make it in one piece, as they are seen entering Winterfell.

Beric Dondarrion joins Jon Snow

Wielding a magical flaming sword, Dondarrion is wearing furs and covered in snow which suggests that he and the brotherhood have headed north to join Jon Snow – there’s a shot a bit later on that confirms Snow will have a flaming sword by his side in battle.

The Hound is up North as well

We see a brief shot of Sandor Clegane covered in snow and wrapped in wildling clothing as well, which suggests that he too has joined in the fight. Last time we saw the Hound, he was with Dordarrion and his men, so this would fit in nicely.

The Greyjoys and Lannisters make an alliance

Ships from House Greyjoy are seen heading towards Kings Landing, but since Yara and Theon are with Daenerys, these have to be Euron’s boats, which means he is likely joining Cersei and will fight against his niece and nephew

There will be at least three epic battles

There’s evidence of three separate battles in the trailer. Jon Snow vs the Whitewalkers of course, but it also looks like Daenerys’ unsullied are going head to head with the Lannisters – led by Jamie, as the Greyjoy’s battle it out on the sea in their ships.

Jon finally meets Daenerys

There’s a very brief shot of the Jon and Davros landing in Dragonstone where we know Daenerys is holding up, which means the two are finally going to meet each other. Davros knows the land well, so it makes sence that he would guide Snow, but why they decide to travel there is unclear.

John Wick Comic Book Coming This September

Dear fans of the John Wick movies – Dynamite have announced that a John Wick comic book series is coming soon, and have confirmed that it will be an origin story! If you’ve always wanted to discover what Wick was like before he became the feared Baba Yaga, you may now hyperventilate!

The comic will focus on a young John Wick, fresh out of prison, who embarks on his very first vendetta as he comes up against a strange but powerful community of assassins. Greg Pak, who has had successful runs with the comics Planet Hulk and World War Hulk, is on board to write the series, and Giovanni Valletta, who is best known for his work on Dark Horse Presents, will be providing the illustrations.

John Wick is an incredible character – he and the world he inhabits are mysterious, thrilling, sexy, and contagious. The series that we are doing develops that world even further by delving into his official origin story for the first time. We couldn’t have been more fortunate than to have Greg Pak come on board to craft this tale. He has such a great understanding of the characters, their world, and their voices. The artwork Giovanni Valletta is creating is going to leave people breathless. He’s found a way to truly immerse the readers into the world of John Wick in a way that I don’t think any other artist would have been able to. The thrills, speed, and action are all there on the page! – Anthony Marques, Editor of Dynamite

This announcement follows news that John Wick director Chad Stahelski is in talks with Lionsgate about creating a spin-off of the film for TV.  Currently named The Continental – after the luxury hotel chain that accommodates the assassins in the movie – the show will look at the Continentals all over the world, their clientele, and how they become a part of that world. Whilst the show won’t be directly about John Wick, Keanu Reeves has been rumoured to make an appearance.

Han Solo Loses its Directors Mid-Filming

It wasn’t long ago that we were getting hyped up about the rumour of the new Star Wars spin-off’s name, and now we’re saying goodbye to its two directors; Phil Lord and Christopher Miller – creators of The Lego Movie, and directors of 21 Jump Street.

Lord and Miller have been filming the Han Solo, Star Wars prequel since early 2017, but with a few weeks of filming left to go, have announced that they will be leaving the project.

According to Lucasfilms’ president, Kathleen Kennedy, their departure was due to creative differences, which seems to happen a lot these days – Ant Man comes to mind. Here’s her official statement:

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon.

Lucasfilms have assured fans that the movie remains on schedule, with a May 2018 release date – though this will be slightly more convincing when a new director is found. I’m sure I’m not the only one who was hoping to see some sort of teaser in the upcoming months.

So who could take over director duties? Well, rumors are going around that Ron Howard may continue with Han Solo. He’s no stranger to epic space movies, with Apollo 13 under his belt. There’s also speculation that Lawrence Kasdan may direct. As co-writer of the Han Solo script, he’s definitely very familiar with the movie, but he’s not quite as renowned for his directing abilities.

Who do you think will make a good director for the Star Wars spin-off?

Watchmen TV Series in the Works

Watchmen TV Series in the Works

Ok, so it’s not technically set in stone yet, but the co-creator of Lost and The Leftovers – David Lindelof – is in talks with HBO for a potential Watchmen series, based on the epic Graphic Novel by Alan Moore.

The project is in really early stages at the moment, but Lindelof is super keen to be a part of it, regularly stating that he used to read the comics as a child, and that they continue to influence his work.

Lindelof is no stranger to HBO either. His current series, The Leftovers – which is an adaption of Tom Perotta’s novel with the same name, has recently premiered its third and final season, gaining unanimous acclaim from critics.

As a huge fan of both Moore’s graphic novel, and Zack Snyder’s 2009 movie adaption, I’m incredibly excited to see what comes of this. What do you think of a Watchmen reboot? Would you watch it?

New Game of Thrones Images Released

HBO have released some new photos from the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, following the release of a rather epic trailer, so if you’re eagerly awaiting the 16th July like myself, you might want to check them out.

They don’t particularly show us anything we didn’t already know; Cersei and Jamie are scheming together in Kings Landing, Sam is in Old Town brushing up on his reading, Jon Snow and Bran are up north – but still not together, and Daenerys has reached Westeros.

There is one surprise however, in the form of Beric Dondarion – who is alive, well, and in season 7. It looks like he too is up north. Will he be joining Jon Snow?

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side kid – Han Solo

Someone posted a picture of their crew shirt up on Reddit, and it’s possible they revealed the name of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off.

Granted, Solo isn’t all that inventive, but I really like the logo, replacing the L with Han’s iconic blaster.

Of course, this could just be a working title. The film’s official name is yet to be revealed, but with filming underway, i’d like to think they’ll release something soon.

Still, for now, it’s nice to get confirmation that something’s actually being filmed. This Han Solo spin-off has gone straight to the top of my most anticipated list, especially with Donald Glover confirmed as Lando.

Join the Night’s Watch

The Game of Throne’s season 7 premiere is still two months away – excruciating isn’t it? On the plus side, that gives you plenty of time to re-watch last season – whilst sobbing as you mumble ‘Hold the Door’ at the television screen.

It also gives you time to apply for a ticket to Sky’s pop-up training camp later this month, where you will be able to watch demonstrations from the stunt team behind Game of Thrones, and become a true member of the Nights Watch.

You will learn skills like archery, sword fighting, and even raven handling – very handy if you ever find yourself in need of a maester.

The event will be held at the Tower of London, on 20th May. You can apply for a balloted ticket, as long as you swear to take no wife, hold no lands, father no children, wear no crowns, win no glory, and live and die at your post.

Just kidding.

You just need to click on this link, and unofficially join the Night’s Watch. You could even be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to attend the US premiere of Season 7.

Good luck guys!

The Defenders Trailer Is Finally Here

Netflix have just released the first trailer for their latest venture into the world of Marvel comic book characters. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist finally meet in this 2 and a half minute trailer for The Defenders, and everything is falling into place.

We also get an idea about who else will be popping up in the new series. It looks like Simone Missick is back as feisty cop Misty Knight, and Rosario Dawson returns as the faithful Claire Temple. Stick is back too, along with Elektra – who we last saw in quite a bad state at the end of Daredevil Season 2.

Most exciting of all though is the appearance of Sigourney Weaver, who will be playing main villain; Alexandra. According to The Defenders writer and producer – Marco Ramirez – Alexandra is a powerful force in New York; sophisticated, intellectual and dangerous. She doesn’t seem to have any comic book history so her role is a bit up in the air right now, but it’s rumoured she’ll play some sort of Kingpin.

The Defenders will be released on Netflix on the 18th August.

Take a Walk in The Forbidden Forest

Warner Bro’s Harry Potter Studio Tour opened the doors to it’s newest expansion last Friday, and have released a sneak peak for those who haven’t got tickets yet – or those who stupidly went a few weeks before the opening like I did.

The Forbidden Forest attraction will feature 12 foot trees and an abundance of magical creatures from the Harry Potter movies, including Aragog the Acromentula, and Buckbeak the Hipogriff. You will be welcomed through the Hogwarts gates by Hagrid – lantern in hand, and get the opportunity to weave under gnarled roots and braches.

Learn about the mechanics behind the Whomping Willow, how long it took to add each feather to buckbeacks body, and how long Aragog’s legs really are. Oh, and if you’re scared of spiders like Ron, don’t worry – there is a spider free route you can take. But you’re a wizard right – just blast them with the Lumos spell and run.

Are you excited to enter the Forbidden Forest? If you’ve already been, I’d love to hear what you thought. If you haven’t, you can buy tickets here.
